The Silpe Gallery at the University of Hartford’s Hartford Art School is proud to announce a call for entries for DRINK! a national juried cup show open to ceramic cups, goblets, mugs, tea bowls, teacups, and tumblers of all kinds.
The jury fee is $35 for up to three entries. A maximum of three entries may be submitted per person. All work must use 75% of clay as the primary medium.

Submissions will be accepted online only from November 22, 2013 through January 31, 2014. Please visit callforentry.org and search DRINK! to enter, or click this link to be taken directly to our call.
Exhibition dates are March 10 through April 2, 2014.
An opening reception and awards presentation will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 4 p.m. in the Silpe Gallery.
Proceeds from the sale of DRINK! vessels will benefit the Silpe Gallery at the University of Hartford’s Hartford Art School.
All pieces included in the exhibition must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition and may not be removed until the show closes on April 2, 2014.
Please review the floor plan of the Silpe Gallery to ensure that large works will physically fit onto the gallery. The Silpe Gallery reserves the right to return any works that do not fit into the gallery space.
Sales and Commissions
All entries must either have a sale price or be marked not for sale (NFS). The Silpe Gallery will handle all sales transactions, collect Connecticut state sales tax, and take a 40% commission from the asking price of all artworks sold during the exhibition.
Purchasers may make arrangements with the Silpe Gallery to arrange for shipping, or pick up sold works from the Silpe Gallery after the exhibition ends, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014.
The Silpe Gallery does not insure works of art on display. Although every professional precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of all work, the Silpe Gallery, the Hartford Art School, and the University of Hartford cannot be held liable for any loss or damage. Artists who desire to insure their work will need to make their own arrangements.
Reproduction of Images
Permission is granted to the Hartford Art School Alumni Committee, the Silpe Gallery, and the Hartford Art School for reproduction of artwork for catalog and/or advertising purposes. Your entry into the exhibition constitutes agreement with this understanding.
Artwork Shipping and Delivery
Accepted entries must be shipped via the commercial carrier of the artist’s choice. All shipping costs are to be paid for by the artist. Shipped works must be received March 3-6, 2014. Hand deliveries will be accepted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 3-6, 2014. Early or late deliveries will not be accepted.
Work should be securely and appropriately wrapped or packed for shipping. The Silpe Gallery, the Hartford Art School, and the University of Hartford are not responsible for works that arrive damaged. All shipped works will be returned in their original packaging and must include return postage or a return pre-paid label from the carrier of the artist’s choice.
All artwork without return postage should be picked up between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014. The Silpe Gallery, the Hartford Art School, and the University of Hartford will not be responsible for artwork not collected after the exhibition closes, or for artwork shipped without proper return postage. Any artwork that remains uncollected will become property of the Hartford Art School and may be sold, auctioned, or removed as it sees fit.
